Author Evening with Mike Carlton
Author and journalist Mike Carlton is one of Australia’s best known media figures in radio, television and newspapers, and is the author of several books on naval history, such as "Cruiser: the life and loss of HMAS Perth and her crew", "First Victory", and "The Scrap Iron Flotilla", just to name a few.
He will be speaking about his latest book "Dive! Australian Submariners at war" at Barry O'Keefe Library.
Australia’s submariners sometimes call themselves the Silent Service and for good reason. They are a special breed, with stealth and daring they go deep, alone and unseen into often dark dangerous waters. The sailors who have served in Australian submarines have done extraordinary and remarkable deeds in the First and Second World Wars and, more recently, the Cold War.
