At the afternoon matinee concert, the RMP Oratorio Festival Choir and RMP Chamber Orchestra will present a magnificent one hour long concert featuring Mozart's famous 'Coronation' Mass K.317, as well as the splendid Church Sonata in C Major, K. 329 (317a) and miniature masterworks including the sublime Laudate Dominum from the Vesperae Solennes de Confessore, and Mozart's final completed choral work: the enigmatic motet Ave Verum Corpus. Pianist Stefan Cassomenos will also perform Mozart's Piano Sonata in B-flat Major, KV 333.
At the evening Gala, the 6 Finalists of the 2024 RMP ARIA will battle it out for the chance to win Australia's most prestigious oratorio singing competition. At the end of the Final, RMP Chief Conductor Andrew Wailes will conduct a performance of Mozart's famous 'Coronation' Mass K.317, as well as the splendid Church Sonata in C Major, K. 329 (317a) featuring over 150 performers of the RMP Oratorio Festival Choir, members of the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra and outstanding soloists: soprano Jesse Linke, mezzo soprano Sally-Anne Russell, tenor Timothy Reynolds and baritone Nicholas Dinopoulos.
Note that the Aria Final will only take place at 7pm. The afternoon performance will not include entry to the evening Final.
