Introduction to Gems and Gemmology
The Introduction to Gems and Gemmology course is an invaluable basis for gemmological knowledge and the perfect starting point for further studies.
A wide range of topics is covered to give a basic understanding of gemmology.
The course is held over one weekend **Need to attend both Days** :
December 7th and 8th- 10am to 6pm
**Booking for 1st session on the 7th December will register you for both Days**
COURSE OUTLINE
- Properties of gemstones
- Corundum
- Diamond
- Synthetics and simulants
- Ornamentals - organic, minerals, rocks, lapidary
- Laboratory sessions to learn the use of gem testing instruments
COST: 2 Day course $495 - Non-Members & $425 - GAA Members

Please note that this course is not a qualification in gemmology. To obtain a recognised qualification, you should study the Diploma in Gemmology.

If you are travelling from interstate or overseas, please ensure that you take out travel insurance to cover your costs in case of course cancellation.
Minimum participants are required to run a scheduled class. In the event that minimum numbers are not reached, GAA (Vic) reserves the right to either reschedule your booking or request to transfer your booking into another scheduled class. In the event that the class is cancelled, participants will be notified as soon as possible and no later than 24 hours before the scheduled class date.
