It's difficult to pinpoint exactly when 'Rock 'n' Roll' lost it's 'Roll'. When guitars began sounding more like revving car engines, drum kits more like thunderstorms and vocalists sounded as if they had just eaten a sandpaper sandwich. The music got bigger, louder, heavier and so did the personalities! Since the classic bands of the 60s and 70s HARD ROCK turned to Metal, to Glam to Grunge to Pop Rock.
Over 3 days we'll look at the history, the people, and of course the many sub genres that make the Hard Rock so distinctive. Participants will learn new techniques on their instruments, some music theory specific to the genre and play lots of iconic Hard Rock music.
MUSIC YOU’LL PLAY?
Artists like Led Zeppelin and Metallica to Nirvana, Queen and of course our very own AC/DC and SIlverchair.
NOT SURE ABOUT YOUR INSTRUMENT?
All instruments welcome at Hard Rock Camp!
FOOD?
Morning tea and lunch are provided by Evergreen, but be sure to fill in the ‘Dietary Requirements’ on the booking form. (If you’re a fussy eater it might be best to bring some of your own food)

The best way to get to the studios is via Sydenham Road entrance. Limited parking is available on site
