Baroque Dance Spring Workshop 2024

Presented by the Courtly Arts Performers of Victoria.Experience French Court Dance of the Sun King, Louis XIV, and discover the intimate relationship between the dance steps and the music.
This introductory workshop will include basic Baroque dance steps and the dance forms of Courante, Sarabande, Boureé and Passepied.
The workshop will be presented by the CAPV Baroque Dancers, using the dance suite, La Bourgogne, choreographed by Louis Pécour, as a reference.
No previous dance experience required, nor do you need to bring a partner. Not suitable for children.
What to wear: Light comfortable clothes, and soft-soled shoes. Ballet flats (Jiffies), low-heeled dance shoes (1-4cm) (e.g. jazz shoes, character dance shoes) are preferable. No Latin, tap or pointe shoes.
Note: A basic level of fitness is necessary (you participate at your own risk).
