A one day ukulele workshop for soprano/concert/tenor ukuleles. NOT bass or baritone ukuleles.10am– 11am:
Basics of TAB reading. Learn to read tablature and the timing of notes in the music score above the tablature line. 2-3 simple ensemble tunes will be played where there will be a melody part, two harmony parts and a chord part. There will be a part for everyone to play regardless of experience and confidence level. Discussing how to correctly hold the ukulele and some basic dos and don’ts.
11:30am – 12:30pm:
Developing your tablature reading skills - with techniques for playing as an ensemble. Counting in, keeping time, plucking and strumming chords in an ensemble setting. 1-2 ensemble tunes will be played.
1:30pm – 2:30 pm:
Blues riffs. Learn riffs to play the 12 bar blues in different keys. How to make any song sound bluesy.
3pm – 4pm:
Song Arranging. The art of song arranging and how to make a song sound interesting.
