The World Is Our Home - Blackwood
ILLUMINA VOICES would love to invite you on a vocal travelogue … featuring famous folk-related tunes from around our world.
‘THE WORLD IS OUR HOME’
In our upcoming concerts, we fly from the Antarctic Land to the far northern hemisphere with famous choral gems along the way. We experience the Saami ‘yoik’ - Song of the Earth (Eatnemen Vuelie) from Frozen; the vivacious Gypsy Serbian dance - Niska Banja; and the powerful Swahili setting of The Lord’s Prayer: Baba Yetu from South Africa.
Included in the program is a bracket of folk rock.
We then head home with Marta Keen’s gorgeous, wistful setting of Homeward Bound.
Included in the program will be the ILLUMINA HAND CHIME ENSEMBLE: back by popular demand! And our Guest Clarinetist: Elizabeth Neal.
Come on a musical journey with us! Bask in melodies from around our world. Celebrate with us that THE WORLD IS indeed OUR BELOVED HOME.
With our Conductor: Glenni Lynelle and Accompanist: Helen Angove
