Red Sky Morning
Red Sky Morning is an intimate and life-changing experience from Australian playwright Tom Holloway. First performed in 2008, this three-person play is an extremely personal exploration of the inner monologues of a family of three - a father, a mother, a daughter. Set in a rural country town, Red Sky Morning represents an ongoing conversation with the issue of mental health in rural Australia, particularly that of male-presenting people, and how someone's mental wellbeing may affect their entire family.
In direct discussion with alcoholism, dissociation, and suicide, this production utilises technology to further distance the family members both from each other, and from the audience, with the three characters navigating the world of screens and cameras in a desperate attempt to understand themselves and each other. This play is fragmented, confronting, and private, and this production is an invitation for you to peer into the window of someone's mind to see exactly what they want to say - and what they are avoiding.
