This workshop is designed to provide easily accessible dementia care education for Volunteers who are supporting people living with dementia or experiencing memory and thinking problems. It aims to equip you as a Volunteer with the knowledge and confidence to support you in your role and recognises the significant contribution and importance of Volunteers.
Learning Outcomes
After completing this workshop, volunteers should be able to:
• Gain an understanding of common memory and thinking problems (dementia and delirium) and how they present.
• Learn how to communicate with a person living with dementia.
• Learn how to support an individual living with dementia.• Your duty of care as a volunteer
