Artist Talk- Cathryn McEwen
About
Please join Central Coast Artist Cathryn McEwen.
Cathryn’s current work examines the world through a veil of glass.
McEwen invites us to make a closer inspection and appreciate the translucent qualities of this fragile material, especially to discover the colours, shapes and the textural effects distorted in collectible glass bottles – nostalgic layers of another time and place.
Cathryn McEwen has been an exhibiting artist and teacher of Art and Design since 1978 and holds a BFA and MEd in Visual Arts & Design. She has taught at the Banff School of Fine Arts in Canada, Enmore Design Centre, St George TAFE, UWS, and UTS in Sydney, and is currently teaching painting at the Gosford Regional Gallery.
This artist talk coincides with McEwen’s exhibition of still life paintings “Call Me Old Fashioned” which will be on display in the Foyer Gallery from Oct 26th to Dec 1st 2024.
