The afternoon includes visits to two historic houses & gardens in the Hobart area beginning at Summerhome built in the 1840s by prominent merchant Henry Hopkins as his summer retreat. The property is still in the same family, & sixth generation family members will take us on a tour of the house & gardens. This is a rare opportunity to visit a private historic home.Runnymede built around 1840 is a beautifully preserved Regency marine villa now owned by the National Trust. Enjoy a guided tour of the house with its elegant furnishings & fascinating maritime collections and the original 19th century villa garden with its historic trees & plantings, carriage driveway & outbuildings.
Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing in the garden or in the house with fellow members whilst enjoying the selection of finger food & beverages provided.
