Auditions for The Diary of Anne Frank
About
In early 1945, A young girl died, alone, of typhus in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Her fate would have remained unknown and anonymous, like so many of her fellow victimsExcept for one important difference
This girl documented, through her diary, short stories and other musings, a life of fear and ever-present danger as she and her family hid from the Nazi occupation of wartime Amsterdam
Auditions will be open and will ideally involve combining different groups of auditionees reading the same pieces
Age ranges, although based on real people, are flexible to differing degrees for each character. Suitability to character and matching of couples will be primary considerations. Similarity of appearance to the actual characters will be a minor consideration
Knowledge of the script is not required. I will be looking to see how people react to the lines and to each other. I may ask for variations in approach purely to get an idea of adaptability and range
