Willing Participant
LOGIE winning actor Rob Carlton is bringing his 5-star Adelaide Fringe hit, Willing Participant, to Bunbury for one night only!
In this 1-hour show Rob tells four true stories: sexual taboos, big lies, deep heartaches, and blind hope. With stories from his 20’s to his 50’s, this world class storyteller reminds us what it is too feel alive! Directed by theatre and comedy legend Darren Gilshenan, you’ll laugh and cry and laugh again and leave in love with the world.
The four stories come from different times in his life.
Early 20’s: Rob investigates the rights and wrongs of cousin love; his best mate got caught.
Mid 20’s: Rob’s employed to fly across the world and onto a film set as a continuity expert; but he isn’t one.
Early 40’s: After the passing of his father, Rob sets out on a bike ride… with his dad on his back.
Late 40’s: Searching for a mid-career pivot, Rob steps into the highly competitive world of musical theatre – but can he sing?
“I’ve never seen anything like it, this thing of simple storytelling beauty and humour nudging so regularly on the profound.” Trent Dalton Boy Swallows Universe
Michala Banas said: “Just Superb!”
Samuel Johnson said: “Completely Riveting!”
Josh Lawson said: 'His stories shoot you through an emotional pinball machine!'
