In the Shadows of the Trumper Pavilion
About
Chatswood Oval has been the home of the Gordon DCC since the 1905-06 cricket season. For nearly 90 years the Gordon RUFC has also claimed the ground as its spiritual home. The ground's large grandstand, the Trumper Pavilion, is named after the immortal Victor Trumper who played for the Gordon DCC. Built in 1924, the pavilion has witnessed many cricketers and footballers in its shadows over 100 years. This publication traces the history of the pavilion and recalls the stories of some of the cricketers and footballers who have played their sport on the ground.
