Deniliquin Easter Art Show 2025
Edward River Art Society and the Rotary Club of Deniliquin proudly present the the 32nd Annual Deniliquin Easter Art Show in 2025.
This popular annual event attracts an enthusiastic audience of art buyers and appreciators, beginning on the Easter long weekend. For the first time we have extended the exhibition and it will be on display from Thursday 17 April 2025 to Friday 17 May 2025.
We invite artists from across the Deniliquin region and beyond to enter, with $20,000 in prize money and commendations to be awarded.

Awards and Prizes

Best in Show Prize - Open to all work (excluding youth entries) - Prize: $5,000

Artistic Merit Prizes (2 awards) - Open to all work - Prize: $2,000 each

Local Artist Prize - Artist residing within 50km of Deniliquin - Prize: $1,200

Local Scene Prize - Subject must be identifiable as Deniliquin and surrounds - Prize: $1,000

Youth Artist Prize - For artists aged 12 to under 18 years - Prize: $600

People’s Choice Award - Voted by visitors to the show - Prize: $500

Picture Hangers Award - Voted by volunteer picture hanging team - Prize: $500
Section Prizes
In 2025, there are 9 sections, each with a prize for best artwork ($800) and commendations awarded by the judges:

Mixed Media - Incorporates at least three mediums and materials on any substrate

Oil - Primarily oil painting on any substrate

Acrylic - Primarily acrylic painting on any substrate

Works on Paper - Wet Mediums - Wet mediums (watercolour, pen and ink) on paper, framed

Works on Paper - Dry Mediums - Dry mediums (pastel, charcoal, pencil) on paper, framed

Photography - Black & white or colour photography, mounted or framed

Digital Artwork - Digitally created or altered original artwork, mounted or framed

Sculpture - Three-dimensional sculpture in any material

Ceramics and Textiles - Three-dimensional non-sculptural artworks in materials including ceramics, textiles, fabrics, and paper
Each artwork is eligible for only one judged prize, excluding the People's Choice and Picture Hangers awards.
Entry categories and fees
Entry categories and entry fees are based on artwork size, with a special category for youth artists. Artists may enter up to 5 artworks across the following categories:

Small to medium artworks - Your artwork must not exceed 1.2 square metres including frame (For example 1m x 1.2m = 1.2 square metres)
$15 per artwork entered -
Large artworks - Your artwork must not exceed 3 square metres including frame. (For example 1.2m x 2.5m = 3 square metres). Maximum 1 entry.
$30 per artwork entered -
3D artworks - The base of your artwork must not exceed 2 square metres. Must be free standing and suitable for indoor/outdoor unless specified. Maximum 3 entries.
$15 per artwork entered -
Youth entry - for artists aged 12-18 years. Must meet sizes outlined above. No commission is taken on sales of youth artwork. Maximum 2 entries.
$5 per artwork entered.
Conditions of Entry
Please note:
- All entries must be for sale and must be recent original works of the Artist and must not have been exhibited in the Deniliquin Easter Art Show previously.
- All artworks must be for sale.
- The same work may not be entered in more than one section.
- Artists may enter up to 5 artworks.
- For any artwork that is sold during the Art Show, a 25% commission will be deducted from the sale price (except for youth entries), with the balance paid by direct deposit into the artist's nominated bank account.
- Each artwork must be suitably presented and ready to hang (excluding sculptures).
- Maximum sizes are detailed in the Conditions of Entry.
- All artworks must be delivered by Monday 14 April 2025.
