Sunday 2 March Autumn Gathering from 5pm to 7pm with country rock bandWillie and the Correspondents
Willie and The Correspondents
Friends Hugh Watson (rhythm guitar and vocals) and Phil Williams(blues harp and
vocals) started their first band West Texas Crude in1994 and were later joined by
Greg Turnbull (drums), Matthew Herbert (lead guitar and vocals) and Peter
MacDonald (bass) to form Willie and The Correspondents. Willie as an
acknowledgment to Willie Nelson and Correspondents, as most of them had
connections to the Canberra Press Gallery.
They play a lot of covers of country/rock music. However, more recently Hugh and
Matthew has ventured into writing their own songs, Hugh the lyrics and Mathew the
music.
They will be playing some of their well-known favourites at Terroux, and introducing
tracks from their new album
