Intimacy and Trauma

About
Many of us have trauma around sex and intimacy. For some this is a result of a breach of their consent. For others it can be more subtle. Most of us are sitting on trauma simply around how we were raised. So often guilt and shame were very much of our sexual beginnings. All of this is stored in our body as trauma and often comes up when we are relating with others. It gets in the way when we related and prevents us from fully experiencing pleasure and intimacy
In fact many people have learnt to couple sexual arousal with stress and relate from a place of disassociation rather than presence without even being aware
In this 3 hour workshop we will explore
What is Trauma
How can we create safety
What is embodied consent and boundaries and how do we use them to create safety and intimacy
How can trauma show up in the body when we are relating
What are triggers
How can we help ourselves and others through a triggered response
