Brunswick Beethoven Festival presents Genesis Baroque

'Fête Champêtre'

Genesis Baroque is Melbourne/Naarm’s renowned period instrument chamber orchestra, and comprises some of Australia’s preeminent historically-informed performers.
Works by Couperin, Marin Marais, Joseph Bodin de Boismortier and more make up this program inspired by the 'Fête Champêtre' ('country party') genre of art. Popular in 18th-century France, these bucolic tableaux typically depict a pastoral scene in which carefree shepherds and shepherdesses dance gaily to the music of the smallest, and poshest, member of the bagpipe family, the 'musette'.
* due to illness, Jennifer Kirsner is no longer able to perform in this concert.
Online sales close at 7:15pm on the day of the concert. Tickets will be available at the door, pending availability. Tempo Rubato is a cashless venue.
