Dame Nellie Melba is remembered as one of the greatest opera singers of all time. Born in Richmond, her career and triumphs in opera and business are well known and celebrated. The Melba Opera Trust established in her legacy is dedicated to training opera singers, not just to sing, but to be equipped with all the skills required to be successful in their field. 

This concert is a fundraiser for the Richmond Churches Food Centre. Started in the 1980's by Anglican Archdeacon Marjorie McGregor (Australia’s first female Archdeacon), the Richmond Churches Food Centre provides food and groceries to those in need and is supported by six churches across demoninations.
