Well-known to Friends of Music Series audiences, Charlotte Roberts returns this year with a luminous program. Clara Schumann's deeply poignant Variations - a heartfelt expression written as her husband Robert's life neared its close - finds a contemporary echo in Linda Kouvaras' evocative Bundanon Suite, whose central movement tenderly honours the memory of a child. The program sparkles with the intricate virtuosity of Mendelssohn and Ravel, before culminating in a thrilling collaboration with special guest Ricardo Roche Idini for four-hand masterpieces by Beethoven and Schoenberg.
