As part of the Kiama Jazz and Blues Festival, the Friends of Kiama Library are thrilled to invite you to a talk with acclaimed music writer Jeff Apter.Jeff's latest book gives us an insight into the life of Carl Perkins, the Rockabilly musician best known for writing the song 'Blue Suede Shoes'. The Wall Street Journal says that Apter gives Perkins his due as a "Songwriter, singer and guitarist who influenced generations of musicians, from the Beatles to revivalists like the Stray Cats."
Apter is the author of more than 30 books about music and musicians with subjects including Jon English, the Bee Gees, George, Malcolm and Angus Young, John Farnham and Kasey Chambers. His recent biographies of Bon Scott, Daniel Johns and Keith Urban have all been bestsellers.
