Trouwerner by Aunty Patsy Cameron & Martin Flanagan (SOLD OUT)
Aunty Patsy Cameron is a national treasure. Trouwerner is a book of many stories but ultimately it is the story of one person, a strong, wise Indigenous woman who continues to give strength to others in a frighteningly uncertain world."
"In 2016, Aunty Patsy invited the then Governor of Tasmania, Kate Warner, to be the patron of Mannalargenna Day, an annual celebration of Tasmanian Aboriginal identity and survival held in the north-east. In 2020, author Martin Flanagan returned to Tasmania after 32 years away in which he had taken every opportunity to connect with Indigenous culture both inside and outside Australia. Attending Mannalargenna Day, he heard Kate Warner “say things I never expected to hear a Governor of Tasmania say”. It seemed to him he had witnessed a historic moment.
Join Aunty Patsy and Martin at Noonameena (former Riawunna Centre at Newnham UTAS) for drinks and canapes as they launch Trouwerner. Tickets provide general admission. Book sales available at the event.
