ANZAC Day Swing w/ THE ROYAL RIVER RATS

About
The Royal River Rats were formed nearly a decade on Dangar island by Baritone Sax maestro Steve Fitzmaurice. Teaming up with Cath Pigneguy (Bass) from Bar Point, another Dangarite in the shape of Steve Griffiths (Vocals/Guitar) and Rose Foster (Trombone) and Toby Hall (Drums), they shared a passion to play the songs of the post-swing/pre-rock'n'roll era of the late 40's to early 50's. Loosely termed Rhythm and Blues, this umbrella encompassed artists such as Louis Jordan, Louis Prima, Ray Charles, Big Joe Turner & Fats Domino who created big jazzy arrangements with a frantic energy, compelling people to dance. With everyone in the band busy with other projects, The Royal River Rats don't get to play as often as they'd like, so make sure you catch this rare reformation of of a truly swinging horn driven band.
