Australian performer Geoffrey Rush burst onto the international stage as a youthful 46 y.o. when he won the Best Actor Oscar for SHINE, though he’d won myriad accolades for his theatre work, debuting at 20 years old in 1971 and having enjoyed a career in film, notably 27 Australian films. Geoffrey has been internationally honoured with the Triple Crown of Acting - a Leading Actor Oscar for SHINE (1997); Primetime Emmy for THE LIFE & DEATH OF PETER SELLERS (2005) and a Tony Award for his Broadway debut in EXIT THE KING (2009). He’s also been Oscar nominated for SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE, THE KING'S SPEECH and QUILLS. He has 3 BAFTAS, 4 Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Golden Globes. Geoffrey has played Albert Einstein in GENIUS; Nigel the Pelican in FINDING NEMO, Leon Trotsky in FRIDA, Captain Barbossa in all five PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN and the narrator in Adam Elliot’s Oscar-winner HARVIE KRUMPET.He stars in THE RULE OF JENNY PEN with John Lithgow opening in cinemas on 20 March.
