2025 Guest Dinner: : A Strategy for Achieving a Sustainable

About
Mark will present a broad strategy for transitioning from the present collapsing civilisation to an environmentally sustainable, fairer and more peaceful one. He will show that technological change alone will not be sufficient for achieving such a transition; that we must also break free of the destructive economic and political ideologies that imprison us and our governments, preventing real change.Bio: Dr Mark Diesendorf is an Honorary Associate Professor of Environment & Society at UNSW Sydney. He researches and campaigns on the energy transition and, more generally, the sustainability transition. His latest book is "The Path to a Sustainable Civilisation: Technological, socio-economic and political change", Palgrave Macmillan, 2023 (copies will be available at discount price).
