Character Information
Gomez Addams
Age Range: 35-60
Vocal Range: Bb2 - G4
A loving father and husband, Gomez would support his family in any way, even if it means he’s stuck in between Wednesday and Morticia. Bringing this role to life, Gomez has great comedic timing, is a strong vocalist and dancer. A Spanish accent is a plus, but not essential at auditions.
Morticia Addams
Age Range: 35-60
Vocal Range: G3 - Bb5
The beautiful, mysterious and intelligent head of the Addams Family, Morticia loves her family, and tradition, almost as much as death itself. A very strong vocalist, and dancer (experience with tango would be a plus), Morticia has excellent stage presence.
Wednesday Addams
Age Range: 17-25
Vocal Range: A3 - E5
Wednesday Addams has always forged her own path, even within her family, and she is about to cause chaos when Mortiicia finds out she is engaged! With a dark view of the world, and dry sense of humour, Wednesday is a very skilled vocalist and actress with strong movement abilities.
Pugsley Addams
Age Range: 14-18
Vocal Range: A3 - F5
The youngest of the Addams Family, Pugsley is scared about all of the changes that come with Wednesday’s engagement. An endearing character, Pugsley is the comedic relief to many scenes. Strong acting and movement skills are highly regarded.
Uncle Fester
Age Range: 30-60
Vocal Range: C3 - G4
The narrator to the show, Fester is a friend to the audience and leader of the Addams Ancestors. Loveable, childish and enthusiastic, Fester is an amazing actor, with great comedic timing and a strong singing voice. Skills with a ukulele (or ability to learn) would be a plus.
Grandma
Age Range: 60+
Vocal Range: G4 - F5
Quirky, feisty and an unclear relation to the Addams Family, Grandma always has some advice, or a potion to help. Grandma has great comedic timing and physicality.
Lurch
Age Range: 30-60
Vocal Range: Eb2 - E4
The Addams Family butler, Lurch is a man of few words, and many grunts. Lurch has great stage presence, and commands the stage with even just a few definitive movements. Lurch will have fantastic acting skills and be comfortable leading the singing of the finale.
Lucas Beinecke
Age Range: 17-25
Vocal Range: C3 - C5
A hopeless romantic, Lucas has fallen in love with Wednesday and intends to marry her, hopefully with the blessing of both of their parents. A fan of the macabre, he is struggling with his ‘normal’ family and the Addams. A strong actor and vocalist.
Mal Beinecke
Age Range: 35-60
Vocal Range: C3 - A4
A cold man, skeptical of the Addams Family and his sons decisions. Mal is not enjoying his time in New York, and doesn’t make a good impression. This is a role for a strong actor.
Alice Beinecke
Age Range: 35-60
Vocal Range: Ab3 - G#5
Alice is a devoted mother and wife, trying to do what she can to make her family happy, even to her own detriment. When given a little push, Alice unleashes a different side. A strong actress and singer can have lots of fun with this role.
Ancestors
Age Range: 14-99 years of age
Vocal Range: All vocal ranges
The Ancestors are from various ages and eras. Each ancestor will have their own character, from a specific era, cause of death and moments of highlight within the show. The ancestors will also feature as a part of each scene, spying on the family as portraits, statues and throughout the scenery. The ancestors need to have great singing, dancing and acting abilities.
Cousin IT and Thing
Age Range: Any
Vocal Range: N/A
Featured throughout the show Cousin It and Thing are iconic characters from the Addams Family shows and movies. These are small roles and individuals are welcome to apply for them specifically, or we will allocate from within the cast and crew.
