Crystal Waters Music Club is proud to present Mama Buluku! A celebration of primal rhythm and the powerful life force it awakens within us. An exhilarating display of music, movement and song, inspired by West African traditions merged into contemporary offerings where the big bass Doun Doun drums have become fused with the dance. This all-women's ensemble raises a high vibration and energy flow with feverishly intricate beats, innovative choreographies and a collective expression of spirit that empowers and uplifts.In just over a fortnight after this performance Mama Buluku will be heading down to Canberra to perform and teach workshops at the National Folk festival. They will be working hard in preparations for this high profile event and are thrilled to share a couple of new dance pieces with you, performed for the first time, at Crystal Waters Music Club.
The Bizarrely Quartet will be opening the night with a special set of soulful folk-rock to get hips moving.
