MAPh workshop | The scanner as a tool for artmaking

Since the 1990s friends Mimmo Cozzolino and Greg Elms have been working with the scanner as a tool for making and recording visual artefacts. In this unique workshop, their combined experience will be shared with participants to discover the creative potential of the humble flatbed scanner as an unconventional image-making tool.The workshop includes:
• an introduction to a variety of images created with a scanner
• experimentation with scanning small three-dimensional objects
• hands-on experience with scanner techniques
• exploration of lighting and positioning for optimal results
• understanding the relationship between movement and image creation
Bring a USB flash drive to take your creative work home with you (or opt to receive your files by email).and a small bag of your favourite 3D objects (flowers, dry foods, toys, etc.) to scan.
Suitable for participants over 16 years old.
Max: 10 participants
