The ARIA and APRA awarded singer-songwriter will be joined on stage by Switzerland's Toby May in what promises to be an absolutely unique showcase of songwriting, from here ... to the other side of the world.
The two first met when Greg lived in Geneva where they produced records and toured the UK, France and Switzerland together and now, they are bringing it home to Victoria.
Greg is best known for his two top ten albums, The Yearning and Junk Theatre, his top four radio played single 'Wildflowers' and the big one - his evergreen contribution to the Australian songbook - Happy Birthday Helen.
Toby is the quintessential musical journeyman: a producer, a multi-instrumentalist but always first and foremost, a singer-songwriter and 'poptimist'.
While people can expect to hear some more classic Things of Stone and Wood songs (Rock This Boat, Share this Wine and Single Perfect Raindrop) as well some crackers from his extensive solo catalogue, they can also enjoy the evocative work of Toby in what will ultimately be a show by two kindred spirits, both of whom share a love of the simple and honest communication of singing a song and strumming on a guitar.
With songs and stories from two lives spent on the great international acoustic singer-songwriter highway, the Peninsula SongRiders special show promises to be moving, fun and uplifting.
