Small and Great Distances: Darlington Quartet

About
Performed by Darlington QuartetThe Darlington Quartet proudly continues its long-term collaboration with WA composer James Ledger, performing his String Quartet No. 4 Small and Great Distances. As its title suggests, this work explores contrasts in multiple dimensions – musical, poetic and philosophical – and is full of extraordinary textures, surprising colours and outrageous technical challenges for the players! Mozart’s String Quartet in E flat major, K. 428, is one of six that the prolific composer dedicated to Haydn. It glows with warmth and generosity, tempered with poignant chromaticism.
