Perimenopause and mental health
About
Perimenopause is the period of a woman's life where she is at greatest risk for mood changes, depression, anxiety, and suicide. Yet, despite this, the psychiatric sequelae of perimenopause remain misunderstood and undertreated. In this workshop, you’ll be provided with:• an understanding of perimenopause & psychiatric sequelae of this life transition
• guidance on assessment of the perimenopause & perimenopausal depression
• a summary of the research on treatments (medications and therapies) for perimenopausal mood and anxiety presentations
This workshop is ideal for health professionals who work with women aged 35 through 55. The workshop is delivered by Dr Nadia Boscaglia, a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years' experience. Dr Boscaglia has dedicated her career to improving women’s mental health; she has conducted research & published papers on the intersection of mental health and reproductive health, and provides training to clinicians about the perimenopause.
