SHSO Concert Series 4 - Summer
The Southern Highlands Symphony Orchestra 2025 Summer Concert Series presents:
An unforgettable concert series as the SHSO weaves together a colourful mix of concert pieces. Sample some Elgar with his vibrant snapshot of the Victorian era in all its splendour in the Imperial March and Holst’s vivid imagery of the rolling hills and peaceful villages of Somerset in his Somerset Rhapsody. Then a taste of Schubert at his melodic best with the Incidental Music for Rosamunde and Grieg’s continued reflection on that mischievous character Peer Gynt in the Peer Gynt Suite No. 2. And although Mozart reputedly detested the flute, he produced several wonderful concertos for the instrument. The SHSO’s principal flute Zoe Andrews will present his lovely and lyrical Flute Concerto in D. And as a salute to the rapidly approaching festive season the orchestra will play Christmas Crackers, a cheerful arrangement of carols specially composed for the SHSO by Southern Highland composer John Corley.Saturday 29 November 2025 - Sunday 30 November 2025 (UTC+11)
