Catbird Theatre is a new theatre company based on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. We specialise in professional actors performing for young audiences. Our aim is to inspire wonder and awaken the imagination in young people.

Mother Swamp Wallaby is getting ready for a big surprise—her joey is about to emerge from her pouch. Luckily, she has her friends Echidna and Magpie to help her prepare.
Come join the animals of the forest to get ready for the party!

Stark Raven Mad

Stark Raven Mad is a fast-paced, interactive poetry show where over 30 poems are performed.
It is dark and funny, but also delightful and a bit absurd. It takes the audience through a poetical journey bringing to life gothic poems using puppets, costumes, movement, and music.
Suitable for people 6+ (adults will love it, too!)

In this full day workshop, we will use different physical theatre techniques, such as Laban Movement Analysis and The Viewpoints, to get into our bodies and out of our heads to explore different ways of theatre making. We will use prompts like the Elements and Greek Mythology to create new pieces of theatre. Family is invited to watch our creations at the end of the day.

The Bremen Town Musicians is an adaptation of a classic German fairy tale. A group of past-their-prime animals have high hopes of making it as musicians in the big city.
