Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival Inc

Presenting an Annual Folk & Bluegrass Festival on the last weekend in October each year from 5:30 pm on Friday to 5:30 on Sunday with camping available on site. Focused primarily on Old-Time, Bluegrass and Folk traditions, it is a family friendly festival with something for everyone - concerts, workshops, jamming, dancing and more. We encourage participation from all ages and are dedicated to sharing our love of music. Also hosting an Old-Time Music School prior to the festival.

CAMPING at the 22nd Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival 2024

Camping for the 22nd Dorrigo Folk & Bluegrass Festival 2024 at the Dorrigo Showgrounds. Camping tickets need to be purchased per person per night and do NOT include power. We encourage all campers to be powered independently as we only have a limited number of powered sites. An extra "Pay for Power" ticket per night is available per vehicle in addition to your camping fees per person and is for your site use only. Please contact ticketing@dorrigofolkbluegrass.com.au if you need to a Powered Site for medical reasons. Camping check in opens Monday 21 Oct at 2 pm, Tuesday 22 to Sun 27 Oct from 8:30am to 6:00pm daily, please vacate your site by 4pm on the day of your departure.

6th Dorrigo Old-Time Music School 2024

The music school provides opportunities for learning and playing alongside award winning old time musicians. Workshops will include traditional fiddle and banjo music, instrument workshops, old time ensemble workshops, folk singing, concerts, jamming and a festival performance opportunity.

Masterclass with Michael Daves and Jacob Jolliff

In this Masterclass Michael Daves and Jacob Jolliff will break down the tradition of brother ”bluegrass duets”, which usually feature guitar, mandolin and vocal harmony. They will perform classic examples from The Monroe Brothers, Jim and Jesse, Bill Monroe and Doc Watson, Skaggs and Rice and others, talking about each style and its context. They will discuss lead and accompaniment techniques, various approaches to improvisation in the duo context and refining vocal blend. Participants will have opportunities to ask questions and make requests. Limited places available, don’t miss this unique chance to spend some time with this outstanding US Bluegrass Duo.
