Their bloodlines locked in an ancient quarrel, they found themselves ensnared in a love that defied the animosity surrounding them. At a masquerade, hidden behind the fragile veils of disguise, their eyes met, and in that instant, the seeds of their doomed passion were sown.

MACBETH

Saturday 24 August 2024
When an evil person gets what’s coming to them there is no tragedy. This production focuses on the familiarity and banality of having desires and ambitions, and how when unchecked, they can lead to consequences beyond imagination. We focus on the journey of a loving couple, who each want the other to achieve their dreams, but ultimately destroy everything they care about; themselves, and each other.

Noting No Thing with Much Ado

Saturday 23 March 2024
An old new approach to Shaking the Spear: no frills, no set, no costumes, no hiding behind expensive production values. Be prepared for a deeply passionate, raw, immersive exploration of the text. House lights on, prepare to stay on the edge of your seat - and vocal. Various key scenes will be performed and repeated in different styles with suggestion and interpretation encouraged along the way. Much Ado is a comic romantic romp - presented as a beautiful play on sharp wit and games of attraction, where often the dissociative power of words is mistaken for the vulnerability of love. In addition, we offer an exploration of the darker elements of romance culture through a frightening satire that ruthlessly tears the facadical (adjectival form) mask.
