Music Matters - Kelly Menhennett - Songwriting Workshop

Kelly Menhennett - Song writing Whether you are a beginner, an intermediate or more experienced player wanting to explore some of the many approaches to writing a song, this workshop is for you. As part of Kelly's workshop you’ll also develop a bit of a toolbox to create tunes at home, and for those more interested in the instrumental side of things there’ll be a chance to explore blues scales and riffs on guitar or uke. Workshop date: Saturday 30th November 2 - 4pm Cost: $10 Bring your guitar, ukulele, instrument, something to write on and your voice. About Kelly Singer, songwriter and winemaker, Kelly was born and bred amongst vineyards in South Australia's Riverland region. Music Matters - Nic Mollison- Live Image projection workshop

Have you ever wanted to project your artwork(s) onto a larger canvas? If your answer is YES! join Nic for an introduction to live projections for visual artists. You will learn about how to plug in a projector to your laptop and use easily available software such MS Power Point, Qlab and Isadora to present your work. You will also learn about screen resolutions, screen ratios and various software programs that are available to use. Please bring a notepad and pen, your laptop with any cables you have to plug your laptop into a projector (HDMI or VGA). Also any examples of your work on a USB stick. Workshop date: Saturday 30th November 1pm – 3.30pm & Sunday 1st December 12pm – 2pm Cost: $20 for both workshops Bring your computer (& USB) and images of the Port or images inspired by music. Commoner’s Choir Workshops. Free! Everyone is welcome to come and join the Commoner’s Choir because everybody has a voice, and there is beauty and strength in people coming together to sing. Join Ella Pak Poy, Anthony Pak Poy & Pat Rix for two exhilarating workshops which will also include members from Port Adelaide’s own Born On Monday and Lefevre Threshold Choirs. Over two weekends you’ll learn beautiful and lively new songs, enjoy singing in harmony with each other, and even join forces with the Citizen’s Orchestra to perform a song as part of the Music Matters final event on Sunday Dec 1. Whether you're a beginner, intermediate or experienced instrumentalist, or just wanting to try playing something, this inclusive event offers everyone a whole new way of creating beautiful and invigorating music together! Come along and collaborate with fellow Port Adelaide locals in a relaxed, fun environment. Don’t miss this chance to contribute your unique sound to the heart of Port Adelaide! Music Matters Dancing Monsters Workshop

Join the Dancing Monsters and make your own mask or monster outfit and fuse it with music and dance. It's not scary just lots of fun. Naomi Nomespotter - Making Monsters Workshop Whether you’re new or experienced to crafting costumes or headpieces, all ages are welcome to join Naomi for this dive into the fun of monster-making! Starting with the basics, you’ll unleash your creativity and be sure to make a brilliant start on your amazing monster creation which you could even wear with the Dancing Monsters in the upcoming Xmas and Fringe Festival parades. Naomi will be assisted by local community artist Daniel Havey, an originator of the Dancing Monsters Community, who will provide some background as well as musical accompaniment for any Monster movement that happens in the workshop. All you need to bring is yourself, a pair of scissors, and any spare cardboard you have lying around.
