In the embellishment and veil-making workshop, Anneliese of Asher and Archer introduces the art of hand-applied adornment, teaching intricate techniques to enhance garments or accessories. Something Blue by Asher and Archer and Silent Dove is a refined curation of bespoke fashion and couture jewellery inspired by heirlooms and the deep emotional connections we associate with precious objects. Held at Melbourne Fashion Festival in the Abbotsford Convent’s Good Shepherd Chapel Gallery, this event features a stunning runway show and exhibition.
Asher and Archer’s custom-made designs are paired with Silent Dove’s heirloom-inspired jewellery, including exquisite lapis lazuli and pearl creations, reflecting the tradition of “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.” Guests will explore the craftsmanship and sustainability behind these timeless pieces in an intimate exhibition.

Silent Dove has created couture jewellery designs exclusively for Melbourne Fashion Week, including angelic beaded necklaces and belts constructed from premium materials such as lapis lazuli, aquamarine, and pearls with heirloom fabrics in resin.
As part of MFW/23 Silent Dove and Spring Place will host a jewellery design workshop on Friday 27 October from 12.00-1.00pm.

BLAIRARCHIBALD is an independent menswear brand established in 2014 as a response to an emerging contemporary menswear culture in Australia. The brand has been a finalist for the International Woolmark Prize, a winner of the BT Emerging Designer Award & The Victorian Premier's Design Award, has shown at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia and most recently had pieces acquired by The National Gallery of Victoria as part of their permanent collection.
