Ella Hooper burst onto the Australian music scene in the late 90's as the technicolour teen front woman of Killing Heidi, a band who went on to explode the naughties, claiming pop rock dominion over the turn of the millenium. She scored her first number one single and released the fastest selling Australian album of all time in the year 2000. Ella was the first ever woman and youngest person to be awarded APRA’s Songwriter of the Year Award.
After spending her 'uni years' touring the world in a wildly successful rock band, she embarked on the first of a series of unexpected sidequests, putting the band on extended haitus and pivoting to media, hosting multiple TV and radio shows, including ABC's beloved music trivia show Spicks And Specks, making her more than just a pop singer in her native Aus.

Australia’s Lloyd Spiegel and Canada’s Charlie A’Court may come from opposite ends of the world, but their commanding performance styles, mutual passion for the Blues and death-defying touring schedules gives them a great deal in common.
Over the past decade, these two guitar slingers have collaborated several times on tours and festival bills and even released an album as part of the ‘ASV’ project with Canadian Blues legend Suzie Vinnick, winning a Canadian East Coast Music Award along the way.
Charlie is touring Australia throughout May and June and the two friends have taken the opportunity to perform a limited run of intimate double bills, performing solo and together.

Legendary Australian band The Bushwackers is set to take the stage at The Shed Theatre on Saturday, June 21, bringing their signature blend of Australian bush music, Celtic instrumentals, and lively folk traditions to audiences once again.
Formed in Melbourne in 1971, The Bushwackers have been a cornerstone of Australia’s folk and country music scene for over five decades. Their dynamic performances, rich with storytelling, bush dances, and iconic original songs, have captivated multi-generational audiences across the country.
With 26 studio albums, three Golden Guitar Awards, and an induction into the esteemed Roll of Renown, The Bushwackers have cemented their legacy in Australian music. Their contributions to folk music have been widely recognized, including receiving a ‘Contribution to Folk Music’ Award. The Sounds of Wales with the Morn Pen Welsh Ladies

The Mornington Peninsula Welsh Ladies Choir (MPWLC,) formed in 2018 in the south-east region of Australia, is one of only two Ladies Welsh Choirs in the entire Southern Hemisphere.
Under the expert guidance of Musical Director, Tom Buchanan OAM, the choir has grown in stature and now performs throughout the Mornington Peninsula and the city of Melbourne.
Singing ‘off book,’ the choristers relish the challenge of singing a repertoire which is sung 50% in Welsh. This is quite an achievement, given that only two of our choristers are actually Welsh speakers.
English, Aboriginal languages, Latin and Zulu make up the remainder of languages we sing in.
Late last year the choir embarked on its first overseas tour, giving 14 performances over a 21-day period in venues from the north to the south of Wales.

Maverick songman Neil Murray originally sprang from Victoria’s western district but in the late 1970’s with guitar in hand he set course for the Northern Territory. He emerged at Papunya in 1980 as a founding member of the pioneering Warumpi Band which over three albums ( Big Name No Blankets, Go Bush and Too much Humbug) and twenty years of performing thrust contemporary indigenous music into mainstream Australia, yielding such classic songs as My Island Home, Blackfella Whitefella, Fitzroy Crossing, Jailanguru Pakarnu, From The Bush and Waru.

Emily Barker is an award-winning Australian singer-songwriter. She had early success as the writer and performer of the theme to the hugely successful BBC/PBS Masterpiece crime drama Wallander starring Kenneth Branagh, and has since gone on to forge an acclaimed catalogue of releases.
Barker has announced her new album, Fragile as Humans - out 3rd May - produced at storied English studio The Wool Hall by Luke Potashnick (Gabrielle Aplin, Jack Savoretti, Alberta Cross). It's her first album for nearly four years, following A Dark Murmuration of Words, which Uncut called “…a kind of Australian equivalent of PJ Harvey’s Let England Shake”
Barker has released music and toured as a solo artist as well as with various bands and collaborations, most notably her long association with Frank Turner, and has written for TV and film, including composing the soundtrack for Jake Gavin’s lauded debut feature Hector starring Peter Mullan and Keith Allen

Rock Academy is a phenomenal music program for teenage musicians. Mentored by professional touring musicians, the teenagers form bands, write songs and put on a show that needs to be seen to be believed.
After two weekend of songwriting and rehearsal at Rock Academy’s famous workshops, some of the Peninsula’s finest teenage musicians will hit the stage to present a range of original and cover songs.
Having been mentored and guided by some of the country’s finest musicians, these young talents are here to show you what they can do!
Doors Open 2.30pm, show starts 3pm.

The Whitlams Black Stump album "Kookaburra" out now
Tim Freedman and Ollie Thorpe’s acclaimed piano and pedal steel duo is the perfect vehicle to strip back Whitlams repertoire and deliver classics like "No Aphrodisiac" and "Blow Up the Pokies” with poignant atmospherics.
This intimate show will also serve to present new material, as the pair play songs from the debut album of Freedman’s new Americana group - The Whitlams Black Stump. Check out the 13 track long player, “Kookaburra” now.
The Whitlams Black Stump’s recent singles, "The Day John Sattler Broke His Jaw" and "No Aphrodisiac (Black Stump)”, which Countrytown called "a three-minute banjo-fied instant classic", have been staples on Australian Country radio over the past year. The album, two years in the making, was produced by multiple Golden Guitar winner Matt Fell.

Shape-shifting uncategorizable post-colonialist DELSINKI is gaining momentum as an artist and a creative force in his own right. His second album CITY/COUNTRY, (followed 2018’s “And There Was Found, No Place For Them”), debuted at #3 on the ARIA - Australian Country Music charts. It reflects Delsinki's experiences, mixing with other songwriters and getting to the heart of a song. A musical and social bowerbird, Delsinki's stylistic approach contains traces of Tim Winton and John Brack alongside his musical influences, giving him a unique artistic vision of contemporary Australian life.

Melbourne Blues artist Lloyd Spiegel has been touring the globe for 30 of his 40 years.
The 14 time Australian Blues Award winner has one of the most interesting stories in music, having grown up on stage learning from, and touring with the founding fathers of modern Blues.
The current show features the incredibly talented Lisa Baird on Trombone and long-time collaborator Tim Burnham on drums. Singer/songwriter Taylor Sheridan, started his career as a young teenager in Rural Victoria and describes his music as 'soulfully acoustic' with influences varying from Stevie Wonder all the way to James Taylor.
Taylor says he has always tries to to combine elements of these different styles and make something fresh.
“I love the story telling of the acoustic folk and the singer/songwriter thing, but singing like (at least trying) soulfully is something that feels incredibly natural to me. Lyrics and melody are where my heart lies but if you find the right chords that genuinely excite you, that’s the real pay off.
Having released two independent EP’s and a string of singles that have featured in the iTunes Top 10, Taylor has toured all around the country playing with some of Australia's finest acts including Pete Murray, Thirsty Merc, Daryl Braithwaite and John Farnham.

SENTINEL is a solo theatrical performance that celebrates some of these ‘ordinary champions’ of the Mornington Peninsula. Five fictional characters, created from conversations with real people, are drawn together when an unlikely visitor arrives at a local beach. SENTINEL is a celebration of the environmental warriors in our midst and pays homage to those living on the edges. The ones who listen, observe and remind us all to be guardians of this precious place and all the living things inhabit it.
With dramaturgy and direction by Melanie Beddie SENTINEL is both a heartwarming and thought provoking show.

City born but country raised, when Dave Wright puts pen to paper and pick to guitar strings he knocks out epics and ravers and boozers about girls, cars, Australia, mariticide, Diggers, truckers, sadness, sickness, drunks, heartbroken mothers, angry fathers, desperate sons … and death. Lots of death. It’s a dark road rutted by Holden rust buckets and RSL relics but between 2012-2021 Dave and his band the Midnight Electric released 4 albums and 2 EPS of searing roots rock music.
In 2017 however, Dave turned his attention to his other love: old time music, and formed the Midnight Ramblers as a side project to satisfy his love of bluegrass, folk, country, and storytelling songs. They have toured together nationally in the Whitlams' alt-country offshoot, The Whitlams Black Stump Band, and their singles "The Day John Sattler Broke His Jaw" and "Blow Up the Pokies" have been staples on Australian Country radio over the past year. The new single due February 2023 is Freedman's bushranger classic "Kate Kelly" performed in a duet with Felicity Urquhart.

The band Inanna Indigo, formally known as Indigo Mckeon, is a six piece soul, jazzy, indie, blend of love soaked musical goodness. Whilst performing as Indigo Mckeon, the Melbourne based band has been fortunate enough to perform consistently both nationally and internationally. Some notable tours and performances include; Jack Botts Tour (Australia) and Riley Pierce Tour (Australia). After obtaining the Mornington Peninsula Performing Arts Fund Grant late last year they are currently focusing on finishing their debut album ‘To Be Soft Is To Be Strong’. This project will be a genre-bending neo-sou, dark folk album portraying Indigo’s experience of being a queer, disabled woman living with CPTSD and healing from sexual violence. Her intention with this release is to use art as a catalyst for activism and healing.

The triceps ain’t what they used to be but the funny bone has only gotten sharper... The Tuck Shop Ladies are an amalgamation of Australian folk music darlings Sam Lohs (Fruit) and Rosie Burgess (Rosie Burgess Trio). Strapping on a pair of ukuleles, the pair pull back the curtain to share an intimate selection of the often ridiculous, but always harmonious songs that were birthed in the back of a tour van, to amuse only themselves.
Their live show is an insight into the relationship of touring musicians, and the result of what happens when every day life is a Broadway musical. The Tuck Shop Ladies invite you into their hilarious world and leave you wanting to run away with the band.
Since forming in 2019 this duo has been quickly gathering acclaim at festivals and shows across the country.
