Ahoy, Me Hearties! Join us for a night to remember the Battle of Trafalgar and the news of Admiral Horatio Nelson's victory, brought back to Britain by the fastest ship in the fleet, HMS Pickle. Guaranteed to be an evening of navy frivolity with entertainment and perhaps a ditty or two. Three course dinner including wine, non-alcoholic beverages and port. Please join HMAS Penguin in celebrating the tradition of Beat to Quarters and Ceremonial Sunset. This tradition dates back centuries to the age of sail, when a ship's drums were beaten to summon men to quarters or action stations when battle was imminent. Today, the inclusion of Beat to Quarters honours the courage and sacrifice of men and women of the Royal Australian Navy through more than century of service during War and Peace. Following Beat to Quarters, the age old tradition of saluting the lowering of the Ensign will be celebrated.
