Considering Matthew Shepard, by Craig Hella Johnson, is a 21st-century, Grammy-nominated oratorio that reflects on the murder of 21 year old gay man Matthew Shepard in Wyoming in 1998.Described by audiences and critics as "brilliant," "powerful," "innovative," "dazzling," and "gripping”, the work brings together diverse musical styles and texts to tell Matthew’s tragic story.
Conducted by Jesse Budel, and performed by soloists Mark Oates and Jennifer Trijo alongside a stellar ensemble of Adelaide choristers and instrumentalists, these performances take place on the 25th anniversary of Matthew’s death.
