Visit Moongate Studios in Bellbrae, and hear from Jan and Geo Francis about their arts practice and the beginnings of Geelong Sculptors.Moongate is their personal purpose built mudbrick studio where Jan and Geo live and work.
Geo is a sculptor who enjoys working with a variety of medium including limestone, timber, sandstone, marble, steel and found objects.
Jan is a visual artist who paints large canvases, celebrating the nude, jazz, pattern and line with with strong color and interesting narrative. Her more recent work has explored smaller canvases in black and white.
Jan and Geo will begin by sharing a presentation about their artwork in their gallery space. This will be followed by the opportunity to see Geo's current bronze sculptural work in progress. Afternoon tea will be provided and the chance to explore the beautiful Moongate sculpture gardens.
