Over the workshop, three things will be explored: -

1. How to make a 3D vessel using a 2D template

2. Layering surface colour, creating different shades and tones

3. Creating texture using surface embellishments and cut felt techniques

Participants will manipulate wet felt to create a basic, easy-to-master 3D vessel. Its simpledesign will allow attendees to spend the majority of the workshop contemplating different design elements, selecting surface embellishments to be felted in and incorporating cut-away window features that expose more contrast of colour and tone, resulting in an individual and unique piece. Lovely hand-dyed rovings, silk fibres & cottons, as well as other materials, that can embellish the vessel’s surface, will be provided. Templates and other essential resources will be loaned, for use, in the workshop.
