Noise Workshop – Wed 29th March – 4-6pm. All Ages. Free.Hosted by Jem and jace from DEAD. Open to all abilities/skill levels. Experimental/noise music should be for everyone.
Known for playing thunderously loud shows of structured songs across the globe, Jem and Jace also have a history of improvisation and experimentation. This form of music has often been shrouded in mystery to those outside of it, and gatekept by those performing it.
This event intends to kick down that gate and give people a chance to try a form of music making that can be lots of fun and cathartic. Music doesn’t need to be made with traditional instruments. Come along and try making some sounds of your own. Bring something with you that makes a sound (if you like). Please bring along any costumes if you like also – making music is a good excuse to dress up.
4:00 – 4:30: Meet in Mechanics Lane, introduction to noise music.
4:30 – 5:00: A chance to make sounds
5:00 – 5:30: Group performance
