Gumnuts with a Modern Twist
Two-Day workshop with Jenny Clouston
Participants would need a knowledge of embroidery
Drawing inspiration from Australian women botanical artists in the 1800's, workshop participants will embroider, applique and embellish their own version of the iconic gum nuts and leaves that symbolize all things Australian flora. The tutor will be guiding attendees by taking traditional embroidery stitches and giving her trademark modern twist, encouraging exploration and play as a unique piece of textile art is created.
Keeping it all Australian, the kit (which includes everything for the workshop) is sourced from COLOUR STREAMS based on the beautiful Macleay Island of queensland.
Tuition fee $250. Limited to 12 participants.
$110 materials (kit) fee payable to the tutor on the first day, or a list of materials can be provided on request.
Morning tea and lunch is provided.
Wednesday 5th July & Friday 7th July. This will allow for some catch up time if needed.
