Overshadowed by the two stars' luminous performances, the movie craft is superb. Director Ridley Scott doesn't merely tell a story, but immortalizes a locale in the process.
Every frame has a marvelous touch... These big, glossy images may owe too much to Scott's advertising background, but they're as terrific and irresistible as Sarandon and Davis.
