Allegri Ensemble, in collaboration with the Hobart Chamber Orchestra, are proud to present a program that celebrates four luminous works by composers from the Baltic States; the acclaimed Estonian composer Arvo Pärt (Da pacem Domine, The Deer’s Cry, Estonian Lullaby) and the influential Latvian instrumentalist and composer Pēteris Vasks (Pater Noster). Well-loved works by J. S. Bach (O Jesu Christ, Mein Lebens Licht), Tallis (If Ye Love Me and Sancte Deus) and Fauré (Cantique de Jean Racine) provide a stimulating contrast.The Hobart Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Emma McGrath, will delight with Górecki’s Three Pieces in Olden Style and Grieg’s ever-popular Holberg Suite.
