Join Annette Higgs, winner of the 2022 Penguin Literary Prize, as she discusses her winning novel 'On A Bright Hillside in Paradise' with previous Penguin Literary Prize winner James McKenzie Watson, ('Denizen'). Described by Fiona McFarlane as ‘a jewel of a novel: luminous, vivid and deftly shaped,’ this historical fiction tackles big questions of faith, family and making a home, even in the harshest of environments. The Penguin Literary Prize, launched in 2017, was established to find, nurture and develop new Australian authors of literary fiction – in keeping with Penguin Random House’s proud tradition of publishing the country’s greatest writers. The Penguin Literary Prize offers aspiring authors from across the nation the opportunity to become a part of that family, and to have their work discovered and brought to booksellers and readers everywhere.This event is free, but bookings are essential.
