The Solstice Celebration is a Community Event which is aimed at bringing our whole community together to celebrate the shortest night of the year.
There will be a kraft activity for the kids, lantern parade, lighting of the solstice spiral, fire twirling demonstration, tarot reading, and fabulous music!
The Store will be offering a delicious warming dinner and Deans Marsh Primary on dessert with hot chocolate and yummy hot Churros! Plus there will be mulled wine & Otway chai!
We are also hoping Eastern Marr Group will perform a traditional Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony as well - as this is an important time of year for indigenous cultures who also celebrate the Winter Solstice!
This year there will also be a local art altar space in the hall set up as a quite space for people to step into, to take a moment of stillness and reflection on the year since last solstice.
