Mark Lau is a double bass player from NYC who grew up in Sydney. Once again, he'll be taking advantage of time in Sydney to record a new album, this time with Spike Mason - saxophones, Dave Goodman - drums, Jeremy Sawkins - guitar.
This Mark Lau Quintet concert at Johnston St Jazz will be the first public performance of the new music by this band for the album that will be recorded the following week.

Followed by Free For All - an open free jazz jam where duos, trios, and quartets are chosen from the audience (if they wish to participate). Play a song you've never heard with somebody you've never met.
