Guest SpeakerJill White PhD is currently working as a Manager in the Department of Justice and Attorney-General (Women’s Safety and Violence Prevention Division) managing three place-based prevention projects in Queensland. The projects bring together young people, families, schools, service providers and government agencies to design whole-of-community responses for preventing youth sexual violence and abuse. These responses are tailored to each community and informed by local priorities and solutions. Jill has over 18 years of experience working in the Queensland and New South Wales Governments in program design and evaluation. Prior to working in government, Jill worked as an occupational therapist, and completed a PhD in developmental psychology. Jill has also worked in public health on community education programs for children and young people in the areas of drug and alcohol prevention, triple zero awareness and what to do in emergency situations.
